Ambassador Zhou's Speech:
The Future of China-U.S. Relations
I wish to begin by thanking the US China
People¡¯s Friendship Association for its kind invitation, which gives me
the opportunity to meet with so many friends, old and new. On behalf of
the Chinese Embassy, I wish to extend my warm congratulations to
you£¬President Harrison and all the members of the Association
on the convocation of the 20th National
Convention of USCPFA. Your vigorous efforts made over the years in
promoting people-to-people exchanges between China and the United States
are of great significance to the friendship and cooperation between our
two great nations.
Most of you here are
witnesses to the fast development of China-U.S. relations in the past 26
years. You are in the best position to tell how China and the U.S. had
benefited each other, grown together and both emerged as winners. The
development of our relationship is in the fundamental interests of our
two countries as well as our peoples. It has and will continue to have
the wide-ranging support from our governments and peoples. It is
capable of removing the disruptions and moving ahead.
